Project Background
Set in a glass-walled building in Nottingham Business Park, the Nottingham Belfry is an ultra-modern 120 room conference hotel that boasts stylish contemporary interiors in both public spaces and rooms. It was therefore important that the air conditioning should complement the décor, internally and externally.
Solution
The new Nottingham Belfry Hotel is the first hotel operated by The QHotels Group to be fitted with Powrmatic Vision 2.3 condenserless heat pump air-conditioners. The project has taken advantage of the ease and speed of installation of the Vision 2.3 to ensure there was no downtime of the rooms. The first phase of the air conditioning installation by Clover Technical Solutions involved fitting Vision 2.3 units at low level in 45 rooms.
Result
The fast-track project was carried out over a two week period between 10am and 4pm to ensure the rooms remained in use throughout. This was facilitated by the packaged design of the Vision 2.3, which requires no outdoor units – thereby also ensuring no interference with the clean lines of the hotel’s facades. Internally, the slim profile of the Vision 2.3 units is the perfect complement to the room décor, combined with low noise levels that ensure non-intrusive performance.
In addition to ensuring the comfort of its guests, QHotels will benefit from Vision 2.3’s ErP-compliant energy efficiency in both heating and cooling modes, reducing the Group’s energy costs and carbon emissions.
This hotel air conditioning systems will see the Vision 2.3 units be rolled out to the remaining rooms in the Nottingham Belfry as well as to other QHotels in a three-year re-fit programme. Where existing wet heating systems are being replaced, these will use the Vision 2.3 LTHW low temperature hot water model.
